Why: In keeping with our mission to honor those who serve(d), ruck with us in honor of our Nation's Birthday.

What: Free 17.76K ruck. Start as a team, finish as a team.

When: July 13th, show up no later than 8:00am. Step off is at 8:30am.

Where: Three options...

  1. Springfield, MO - Galloway Trails- Meet at the Pershing elementary school parking lot.

  2. Washington, DC - From the U.S. Capitol to the Lincoln Memorial and back, twice.

  3. Shadow - Compete where you choose.

Who: Open to all.

At the halfway point, the Declaration of Independence will be read aloud.

This fund will provide assistance to families when a U.S. Service Member passes away. This can help offset the cost of food, lodging, transportation, and other unforeseen incurred expenses.

Who will you ruck in honor of?

***Please invite people through Facebook here.*** Show up no later than 8:00am. Step off is at 8:30am.

  • Springfield, MO Route: Start at Pershing School parking lot near the Galloway Trail head. Then ruck the Galloway/Greenway Trail for 5.5 miles. Break, knock out some burpees and ruck back.

  • Washington, DC Route: National Mall - show up no later than Step off is at 8:00am. We’ll walk as a team from the U.S. Capitol to the Lincoln and back, twice.

  • Shadow: You choose.

Completion: Start as a team, finish as a team. Once we have completed the ruck let’s meet at…

  • Springfield, MO: Bricktown Brewery at 2040 E Independence ST

  • Washington, DC: TBD

Cost: Free.

This is a free event but registration is required. After you register, please click on the cart and check out. Just leave the credit card info blank. Donations will go towards the Ruck 'N' Run "In Their Honor" fund to help families of Service Members that pass away. We'll also have t-shirts available for purchase, which will also help with the "In Their Honor" fund.

Where to meet:

  1. Springfield, MO: Pershing School parking lot.

  2. Washington, DC: Far east side of the U.S. Capitol (the level above the visitor center)

  3. Shadow: Gather you team and compete where you live!

Overall Distance: 17.76K OR 11 miles

Ruck weight: Please note, your ruck weight is your preference, choose what feels more comfortable. Easiest 20lbs, moderate 35lbs, advance 45lbs, elite 50lbs+

Exercises: Half way we will take an exercise break and knock out 25 burpees and read the Declaration of Independence.

Fitness level: Moderate to advanced

What to bring: Must bring your own rucksack,backpack or weighted vest, weight, nourishment, hydration, motivation, and a positive, good attitude. Teamwork!

Children: This is a lengthy and challenging ruck. No children under 12 allowed on this one.

Pets: Only Official Service Dogs are welcomed.

If you bring your pet, please make sure your dog is well-behaved and safe around strangers. Bring water and nourishment for your dog. Be mindful, respectful of any waste your dog may leave. In other words, clean up after your dog please. Must be on leash.

Venue: Please be sure to respect and follow all rules, policies and regulations of the venues or areas we ruck and/or pass through.

Safety: You’re encouraged to bring your own first aid kit. There is no designated medical personnel. Communication is by cell phone. Ruck 417, club participants, and Ruck ‘N’ Run are not liable to any injuries, illnesses, and/or causes of death. There is no lifeguard on duty, meaning, each participant is responsible for their own well-being. In the event of a medical issue, we will do our best to assist with seeking professional help. This is not a closed course. Be mindful of traffic and the general public.

Media Release: We take group photos and videos of our events. If you do not wish to be in any media format, please let us know, prior to the event.
