April’s Mission = Military Kids / Ruck ‘N’ Run®

Why: Ruck ‘N’ Run® is all about Honoring Those Who Serve(d)®!

April is designated as the Month of the Military Child, underscoring the important role military children play in the Armed Forces community. The mission:

Honor: Military Kids. This year specifically, we’re honoring Hannah Hurlbut, a true Military Kid who passed away on April 11, 2020, while her father was deployed overseas. Her brief twelve years on this Earth were impactful, and we’re here to ensure that continues. The blue and purple on the challenge coin were Hannah’s favorite colors. Create a purple ribbon, write the name(s) of the Military Kid(s) in your life, tie it to your rucksack, backpack, or a weighted vest, and complete this mission in their honor! Share your photos and videos with us. We want to share your story!

Distance: 4 miles (One-and-done, but feel free to do this same mission each week in April.)

  • Ruckers, ruck (carry weight, your preference)

  • Runners, run (do not carry any weight)

  • Or a combination of both. You know…Ruck ‘N’ Run!

Exercises: Every mile stop and execute the following in this order. Hannah passed away at the age of 12.

  • 12 burpees (One rep for each year of Hannah’s life.)

  • 12 jumping jacks

  • 12 tuck jumps

  • 12 mountain climbers
